Demae Chioma Wodu is a London-born, singer/songwriter and producer. Introduced to many as one-third of experimental hip-hop adventurists, Hawk House, but now focusing on her own solo efforts, she teams up with longtime production partner, Eun. She has crafted her debut EP, Life Works Out...Usually which she explains is: "both a soothing antidote to these turbulent times and a soulful coming-of-age story celebrating black joy, self-empowerment and life learnings centered around an integral two year period of growth.". The first single from Demae's upcoming project is 'Use It', which uses her soulful vocals bloom into gorgeous R&B style ad-libs and breathy harmonies. Lyrically, she asks the listener to be aware of the preciousness of conscience: "Use it, never the abuse the mind you came with. There's power, there's power in everything you speak.". Production is crafted from a fast hi-hat pattern and squelchy bass, with scatterings of psychedelic keyboard, all of which nod to Roy Ayres 'Searching', in a more modern, London way. Life Works Out...Usually out via burgeoning South-London-based label/movement, Touching Bass on the 4th of September. -Ellie Rose-Davies
